Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads, directs and reviews Control Room activities to ensure Controllers, and other personnel follow proper protocols and policies. 
  • Leads a team of employees in carrying out recurring facility checks and ensures regulatory requirements are met across the facilities to include 30 tanks, 18 pumps, 6 miles of pipeline, the airport hydrant system, 2 loading racks, multiple buildings and company vehicles, and numerous valves, vaults, pits, and filter vessels.
  • Reviews, tracks, and files audit documents for internal and external parties. Recommends repairs, retraining, and corrective action as necessary. 
  • Responsible for ensuring employee schedules are completed and communicated, and that all priority positions are covered for uninterrupted operations of the facilities. 
  • Reviews and approves payroll hour exception sheets, timecards, and overtime. Familiar with the Union contract and understands employee wages, premiums, differentials and other payroll related policies. 
  • Assists the HR Manager in tracking attendance and is familiar with the company’s Punctuality and Attendance Policy. 
  • Conducts performance reviews, recommends employee awards, and conducts disciplinary action as necessary. 
  • Assists with interviewing candidates for the Terminal & Pipeline Operator positions. 
  • Complies with and has working knowledge of the rules establish by regulating agencies including the requirements of A4A, DOT PHMSA, USCG, OSHA, and the EPA. 
  • Requires working knowledge of various standards to include those outlined by the API, ASME, ASTM, NFPA, and NACE.
  • Acts as the Cargo Coordinator for the import of product from ocean going vessels.
  • Assists with storage facility audits conducted by airlines and assists with audits conducted by regulating agencies.
  • Monitors compliance requirements, ensures completion prior to deadlines, and maintains records of various inspections, calibrations, testing, and checks for multiple facilities. 
  • Reacts, responds, and leads efforts related to security, safety, and environmental incidents. 
  • Monitors alarms, alerts, and communications related to the receipt, transfer, and issuance of fuel. 
  • Follows and ensures employees and vendors complete proper permitting and safety practices for confined spaces, fall protection, and hot work. 
  • Continually passes on knowledge to employees of the facilities, systems, and practices related to the fuel quality, training, and operations of the facilities. 
  • Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Assist with diagnosing problems, troubleshoot, repair and maintain related components such as the ENRAF, SCADA, PDC’s, and HMI’s systems, etc.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent trade or technical school training; or 2 years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures for operating fuel facilities
  • Associate degree or equivalent trade or technical school training; or 2 years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, one-lines, and schematics
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, loss/gains, inventories, inches/feet to gallons/barrels conversions, proportions, percentages, areas, weights, lengths, diameters, radius, circumferences, flow rates, pressures, voltage, amperes, watts, resistance, and volumes in standard and volumes in standard and metric
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Must hold a valid drivers’ license
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to build relationships
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms, climb or balance; and talk or hear.

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, shift worked, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, merit, output, productivity, prior training or experience, travel.  The pay range for this position is $ 80,000 / $100,000 yearly.
